As we welcome the new year, we want to take a moment to wish everyone a healthy, peaceful, and joyful 2026. We are deeply grateful to all of you who joined our virtual workshops over the past year. Your presence, stories, and participation continue to make our community meaningful and connected, even across screens. We look forward to creating, learning, and growing together in the months ahead.
We’re excited to share that our upcoming NYQM Community Workshop, Navigating Affordable Housing in NYC, will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The workshop will be presented by Jennifer Vallone from University Settlement.
This virtual workshop will introduce the affordable housing landscape in NYC, different types of affordable housing, the application process, and available rent subsidy programs. We welcome everyone who would like to better understand housing options and available resources.

As we move into the new year, it’s important to stay alert about scams. Be cautious of unexpected phone calls, emails, or messages asking for personal information, money, or urgent action. Government agencies and banks will not ask for sensitive information over the phone. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and check with a trusted family member, friend, or community organization before responding. If you ever want to talk through a situation, we’re here to help.
