People of Color Worship & Reflection Group (“POC”)

People of Color Worship & Reflection Group (“POC”) is a worship group conducted in the manner of the Religious Society of Friends and is under the care of Flushing Monthly Meeting. POC is committed to the “open, expectant religion” envisioned by the original founders of Quakerism with an emphasis on exploring the rich spiritual heritage and traditions of People of Color in America.

Join us for worship and reflection every Second Sunday of the month at 10:00 AM at the Old Quaker Meeting House, located at 137-16 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, New York 11354. First Day School (Quaker instruction for children) and adult study is available.

“There is a principle, which is pure, placed in the human mind, which in different places and ages hath had different names. It is, however, pure and proceeds from God. It is deep and inward, confined to no forms of religion nor excluded from any, where the heart stands in perfect sincerity. In whomsoever this takes root and grows, of what nation soever, they become brethren.” John Woolman, 1776
