NYC Quaker Volunteer Opportunities
Monthly Community Dinner at Brooklyn Meeting
On the last Sunday of the month Brooklyn Meeting provides and serves a hearty meal to anyone who wants one. Volunteers, including non-Quakers, are welcome to join. Check out the RSVP form for more details.
Work Days at the Friends Cemetery in Prospect Park
A few times a year the Friends (Quaker) Cemetery in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, is open on Saturday for a community work day. Volunteers rake leaves, weed gardens, and do other projects to maintain this beautiful natural space. Check nycquakers.org/events for upcoming work days.
Committee Service
At the Quarterly Meeting — for all the Quakers in NYC
Friends in NYC can serve on one of the Quarterly Meeting Committees or Working Groups to help nurture our Quaker community. For more information on a committee, check out its webpage below or find its official description in the New York Quarterly Meeting Handbook. The Nominating Committee can help match your interests and your gifts with available committee slots. The current clerk is Bill Guy.

At a local meeting — for the Quaker community you worship with
Each of the local Quaker meetings have their own set of committees. You can get involved with peace and social action, providing refreshments at post-worship social hour, participating in clearness committees, supporting children's programs, maintaining our meetinghouse, and more. Visit one of the NYC Quaker meetings to find out what committees best match with your interest, experience, and gifts.
