Community Wellness and Support
NYC Quakers recognize that individual wellness is deeply connected to the health of the community, and that wellness encompasses many areas of life: physical health, mental and emotional health, social connections, economic stability, safety, spiritual health, among other areas.
Support for these areas of wellness exist at the monthly meeting level through committees such as Ministry and Counsel and Pastoral Care. Sometimes, the challenges we face are more complicated and may require navigating complex social service systems. To support individual Friends as they navigate such challenges, and monthly meeting care committees as they strive to best support our community, the Quarterly Meeting has partnered with University Settlement (US) to provide free resources, workshops, and one-on-one case management. Read more about this partnership here.
These free resources are available to members and attenders of all NYC Quaker meetings. All inquiries are handled with confidentiality and care.
