#FreedomWalk2026 Sacred Midway Point event

Join the #FreedomWalk2026 Sacred Midway Point celebration in Harlem. This national pilgrimage retraces historic Underground Railroad routes from Maryland to Canada, with walkers covering twelve miles a day from May 4th through July 4th, when they will cross by boat into Canada. In the NYC Metro area, the walkers will be housed at the Brooklyn Friends Meetinghouse.

The New York gathering marks a sacred midpoint in the journey, featuring faith leadership, Indigenous voices, living testimony from walkers, Harriet Tubman embodiment, a Pulitzer Prize-winning guest speaker, and music and praise dance rooted in the abolitionist tradition.
