Screening of 1930's All Quiet on the Western Front with LIVE SCORE by Aesop's Sound Fables
Saturday, May 30th. Doors open 5:30 pm. Show starts at 6 pm.
Come experience a screening of the 1930 silent masterpiece, “All Quiet on the Western Front,” the first film to win Academy Awards for both Best Picture and Best Director, with an original score composed by Mike Notowarski of Aesop’s Sound Fables, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit, musical collective. Performed live with guitar and tuba!
Banned for both its strong pacifist message and by Germany for being anti-nationalist, the film is still considered one of the finest anti-war movies ever made. Co-sponsored by Fifteenth Street Meeting's Arts and Peace & Social Justice Committees.
