Communications Working Group
The working group advises the communications director; helps amplify stories, actions, and our spiritual life; and connects the quarter with our meetings.
In January 2026, after discernment by salon participants, the New York Quarterly Meeting Communications Salon evolved into the Communications Working Group. The group's description is below. Interested in the working group? Please email sarah@nycquakers.org.
NYQM Communications Working Group
Purpose
The Communications Working Group advises the Communications Director on amplifying Quaker witness and values across a variety of media platforms and on forming a strategic direction for NYC Quaker communications. The group helps amplify stories, examples of faithful action, and aspects of Friends' spiritual life that merit broader visibility. The working group serves as a bridge between monthly meetings and quarter-wide communications, enabling and encouraging the sharing of experiences and support among its members. The group also serves as an unofficial editorial board, providing discernment to the communications director.
