Quaker Meeting for Worship

You are welcome to join a Quaker congregation (meeting) for worship, even if you've never been to one before. Most meetings in NYC hold silent, "waiting" worship. NYC Quaker meetings that hold worship on Sundays:

15th Street Meeting: 15th Street holds two meetings for worship on Sundays. The one attended by the most people is at 11:00 am, held online and at 15 Rutherford Place (and 15th Street), NY, NY. The other worship service is at 9:30 am and is in-person only (technology-free).  Visit the 15th Street Meeting site for Zoom links.

15th Street's First Day School (Sunday School) takes place on the second floor during the 11:00 meeting, for children five and above. For children younger than five, there is play-based childcare in the same room. In other words: If you have kids, please bring them along!

Brooklyn Meeting: Brooklyn holds three meetings for worship on Sundays. The one attended by the most people is at 11:00 a.m., held online and in person at the Brooklyn Meetinghouse, 110 Schermerhorn St. in downtown Brooklyn, NY. Brooklyn also holds two meetings for worship at 9:00 am on Sundays: a technology-free one at the meetinghouse and an online-only one via Zoom. Check the Brooklyn Meeting website for Zoom links.

Brooklyn's childcare and children's religious education classes (AKA "First Day School") are held on most Sundays from September through June, 11-11:50 am. First Day School provides an introduction to Quaker testimonies through storytelling, art projects, and co-operative games to children ages 4-13.  Children from 3 months to 3 years old may join Childcare which is also on the lower level (yellow door). Kids 13 and older can choose to go to First Day School or join worship upstairs.

Flushing Meeting: 11:00 a.m., online and at 137-16 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY  All are welcome to worship with us every First Day (Sunday) at 11:00 am, online and at our 330 year old meetinghouse at 137-16 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY. Manhattan Meeting: worship led by Pastor David Herendeen, 9:30 a.m. on Sundays (AKA First Days), online and in person in Room 1 at 15 Rutherford Place, NY, NY (Zoom instructions here) All are welcome to join our rich Spirit-led, programmed (pastor-led) worship at 9:30 am every First Day. Seekers/attenders are also welcome to join our monthly virtual prayer meeting on 3rd Thursdays at 7:00pm using our Meeting’s zoom link (see above). Our joint worship continues with the following meetings: 15th Street on first First Day Quarterly, 4th
First Day with Manhasset Monthly Meeting, and fifth First Day with Baltimore Friends Meeting.

Morningside Meeting:  Sunday at 11 am: hybrid in-person/remote meeting for worship, followed by afterwords, announcements, and introductions of visitors and those new to Morningside. Meeting for Worship in-person will take place at Riverside Church (81 Claremont Ave., NYC) on the 12th Floor. We welcome children to come to Meeting with Children on the 13th floor on Sundays from 11:00 until shortly before noon.  The virtual meeting room will be open at 10:45 a.m. for Friends and attenders to begin to gather. Staten Island Meeting: 10:10 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, in person and online. Visit the website and click "contact" to request the online link or location of upcoming in-person meetings. Location varies between the beach, online, and ETG Cafe, 208 Bay Street, S.I. You will know Meeting for Worship is in session if no one verbally greets you when you enter. That does not mean you are not welcome. You are welcome!
