White Privilege Symposium

White Privilege Symposium Nov. 15-16 (Friday evening and all day Saturday) in Rochester, NY Friends, At long last, and with very late notice, I invite you to a White Privilege Symposium in Rochester, NY, this Friday night and Saturday (Nov. 15-16). The theme is Tools for Creating a Just Future for All. This is hosted by The Privilege Institute, the same organization that hosts the annual White Privilege Conference that NYYM co-sponsored in 2016. The cost is $135 for adults, $60 for college students, and $50 for other students. New York Yearly Meeting’s Black Concerns Committee has money to help people attend, though with the late notice, they are not able to arrange payment in advance but are able to reimburse you. If you will be requesting such a payment, please contact Helen Garay Toppins (office@nyym.org, 212-673-5750) right away to let her know. You can send in your registration receipt later. If you need overnight hospitality, Rochester Friends have a few spaces left. Call Lu Harper at 585-732-4779 for arrangements. The delay and late notice are because the event was cancelled, then back on; a leadership transition, and a lack of publishable information. Information is finally available to share.
