2018_01_21 Mary Billington – A Life well Lived

Mary Billington, daughter of Maureen Healy, whose life was an inspiration to all who knew her, died on Friday afternoon, March 9, 2018. She had just turned 30 years of age on February 4th. There will be a wake for Mary at the Cobble Hill Chapels located at 171 Court Street, Brooklyn, New York, 11201 (718- 875-1640 or 718- 875-7429), Tuesday March 13th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Mary will be buried in the Quaker Cemetery, Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY 11215, on Wednesday March 14th at 1:00 PM. At noon Friends will gather inside Prospect Park near the circle at the Southwest corner. (Take the F train to the 15 Street stop or, if driving, park on nearby streets where parking is good for a few hours.) When the funeral procession enters the park, Friends will walk together to the cemetery for the 1:00 PM burial. (Cars will be available for anyone not able to walk a half mile.) Please know that there will also be a Memorial Meeting for Mary in late April or early May (TBD) at the 15th Street Meeting House in Manhattan.

Mary Billington and the Healy family are very appreciative to the Sunshine Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. The Foundation provides positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients, by sponsoring a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for children who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.
