Dear Faith & Community Leaders,

We invite you to join the hundreds of houses of worship and other institutions that have signed up to participate in our upcoming Weekend of Faith in Action Against Domestic Violence that Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray announced at our recent Interfaith Breakfast.

Participating is easy; in fact, most can take place at your own house of worshipYou just talk, teach, tag, or host.

  • TALK: Include messaging in your sermons/services that denounce relationship abuse and promote healthy love and support. You and others can wear purple and/or decorate your house of worship in purple to call attention to the issue.
  • TEACH: Use the FREE Faith Leader Toolkit we send you to share educational info, and let people know about the many resources and services available throughout NYC. Or, take a tour of one of our Family Justice Centers.
  • TAG: Share messages of awareness or support on social media. Just include us: @MayorsCAU and @NYCagainstabuse, and use the hashtags #NYCFaithInActionAgainstDV or #NYCGoPurple.
  • HOST: Invite us (the Mayor’s Office staff or partner agency staff) to lead FREE workshops/trainings at your house of worship during the Weekend of Faith (Feb. 9-11, 2018)

Our 2018 Weekend of Faith in Action Against Domestic Violence will take place from February 9 to February 11.
